Our townhouse is in the village of San Enrique de Guadiaro in the Province of Cadiz and part of the Municipality of San Roque, all of which are part of the region of Andalucia in the South of Spain.
If you use the navigation service What 3 Words this is our front gate: unofficial.conformist.devastate
We are about one hour and 10 minutes from Malaga airport, 30 minutes from Gibraltar airport and one hour and 20 minutes from the airport at Jerez.
The A-7 (no tolls) and the AP-7 (motorway withtolls) are the main roads that connect San Enrique to everything.
FROM MALAGA (Airport), you have two options.
You can take the A-7 which is toll-free and goes along the coast. It's fairly picturesque but can get very busy, especially around Marbella and there are lots of roundabouts, so at busy times it takes longer than the other option which is to take the AP-7 (the motorway with tolls - maybe €10 for the whole trip).
Both options bring you to almost exactly the same place. If you've stayed on the A-7 all the way, it will eventually end at a roundabout where you take the first exit and drive past a large service station then you get to another roundabout, take the 2nd exit (which goes underneath the AP-7), and immediately there's a 3rd roundabout. Take the 3rd exit which is the A-2102 to San Enrique (see below).
If you took the AP-7 (the motorway with tolls), stay on until you get to Junction 133. Once off the motorway, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A-2102 to San Enrique.
FROM JEREZ or GIBRALTAR
If you are coming from Jerez or Gibraltar then you'll probably be travelling North East on the A-7, and again you'll need to exit at Junction 133 and look for the turning off the roundabouts (two of them) that says A-2102 to San Enrique.
Once on the A-2102, within 2 minutes the road will bring you into the village of San Enrique, where there are speed bumps.
Drive through the village, passing various little shops and bars. As the road bends to the left near the end of the village, you'll see ahead of you a restaurant called Venta Manolo, just before you get to the restaurant, turn right (there's usually a big billboard saying Ayala Polo there) onto a small road.
In about 100m turn sharp right onto Calle Polo Sur (it's slightly uphill). On the right is a large white building which is an assisted living centre for elderly people, and in front of you will be the big security barrier to our community.
Drive up to the barrier then follow the instructions under 'Checking In'.
